Stage 2 : Rebuild and completionWhist the panels are being painted, with the addition of the hard top, the body shell can be inspected and on approval rebuilt.The new wiring loom is fitted to the repainted dash panel which is fitted to the vehicle.Most of the suspension was replaced to original spec. The original parts having been stripped were shot blasted and powder coated before being reassembled off the vehicle prior to being fitted up.The engine is the original which we have stripped, rebuilt - converted to unleaded and painted in original colours.The trim was to original styling and the seats were reupholstered in house.The door panels needed slight modification due to the type of door handle.A boot carpet set was also added.The wheels were upgraded to chromeWith the later body shell came the larger transmission tunnel - this then allowed us to fit a centre console and a CD player whilst keeping the original "MG Badged centre" in the dash. We also fitted a CAT 2 insurance approved immobiliser.The LED light is neatly fitted and highly visible in the centre console.The customer requested the classic style boot rack and later decided to have the boot badges fitted.The modification list is as follows:-Cat 2 ImmobiliserMotilita steering wheel12 Volt accessory socketCentre console and arm restCD PlayerChrome wire wheelsChrome boot on classic boot rackBrake servo unitThe customer has now decided to have the overdrive gearbox unit fitted - these works will be carried out in a few months - once he's able to part himself from the car!Back to Project
